Our client, a major refinery in Carson, CA, is currently seeking an Instrumentation Designer to support long-term refinery projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early to mid-career Instrumentation Designer looking to continue growing within the oil & gas industry. We are specifically seeking candidates with approximately 2β5 years of experience who are motivated, trainable, and eager to develop within a refinery environment.
π² Pay: $53β65/hr
π Location: Carson, CA
π Schedule: Full-time | Long-Term Contract
Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and revise instrumentation design drawings and documentation
β’ Support engineering and project teams with instrument layouts and design updates
β’ Work with P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and instrument specifications
β’ Assist with field walk-downs and redline updates as needed
β’ Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, process, and mechanical groups
β’ Ensure designs comply with refinery standards and safety requirements
Qualifications:
β’ 2β5 years of instrumentation design experience within refinery, petrochemical, industrial, or similar environments
β’ Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or CADWorx preferred
β’ Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and technical drawings
β’ Understanding of instrumentation systems, control systems, and field devices
β’ Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
β’ TWIC card preferred or ability to obtain one
