Assistant Civil Designer

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Civil Designer to support a variety of civil engineering and land development projects. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and designers on diverse projects including site development, transportation infrastructure, utilities, airports, stormwater systems, and facility design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and development of civil engineering projects, including:
  • Site development and land development
  • Roadway design
  • Storm drainage and stormwater management systems
  • Water and sanitary sewer utilities
  • Sediment and erosion control plans
  • Traffic control plans
  • Airport and facility design projects
  • Support planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, technical reports, specifications, construction documents, and environmental plans.
  • Develop detailed Revit structural models and construction drawing packages, including plans, sections, and details.
  • Perform drafting and modeling tasks based on engineering sketches, markups, calculations, and project requirements.
  • Assist with design layouts, calculations, and problem-solving for assignments of varying complexity.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and designers to identify and resolve BIM and design conflicts.
  • Apply company standards, BIM standards, and industry best practices to all deliverables.
  • Organize and maintain project files, revisions, transmittals, PDFs, shop drawings, and related documentation.
  • Incorporate project schedules, budgets, and design criteria into project deliverables.
  • Support project teams in meeting deadlines and achieving project objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field with 2 years of related experience; OR
  • Associate Degree with 3 years of related experience; OR
  • 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Revit.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of structural components, construction documents, and drafting principles.
  • Basic knowledge of civil engineering design practices, calculations, and design systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and calculations accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills and document management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary project team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Work Authorization

Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located without sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary : $35 - $37
