Press Operator / Bindery Operator
Location: Onsite – Gurnee, IL
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press per SOPs, work instructions, and control riders
- Monitor production efficiency and quality while completing all documentation accurately
- Troubleshoot machine problems related to equipment and setup
- Perform testing and determine corrective actions to achieve passing results
- Minimize remakes by identifying issues early and communicating effectively with downstream operators
- Perform clean-up and maintenance tasks in accordance with company SOP
- Maintain high productivity and meet expectations for setup time and run speeds
- Operate equipment to ensure production objectives are met
- Cross-train to run all finishing assets in the Bindery department
- Perform minor preventive maintenance and repairs; report defects to Manager or Team Lead
- Ensure machinery is maintained in good working condition
- Follow all quality system procedures
- Support customer satisfaction goals, including on-time delivery (OTD)
Qualifications – Press:
- 3 years of lithographic press experience or similar machinery operation
- Experience with basic quality systems and documentation
- Ability to understand performance expectations and communicate effectively with team
Qualifications – Bindery:
- 2 years of Bindery experience (literature folder/gluer) or similar machinery operation
- Experience with basic quality systems and documentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change
- Flexibility to work any shift and overtime
- High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Twisting, turning, squeezing, grasping, reaching (including over equipment), kneeling, crawling, pulling
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Long periods of concentration
- Speaking, hearing, and vision required to perform job functions
Compensation:
Pay Range: $20–34/hr
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. Our full-time consultants have access to benefits including medical, dental, vision as well as 401K contributions.
