Job Summary:
The Shipping Coordinator in a manufacturing setting ensures the efficient and accurate movement of goods from the factory to their destination. This involves receiving incoming materials, coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing documentation, and communicating with various parties to meet customer requirements and deadlines. They also play a key role in maintaining records and resolving any shipping-related issues.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Verify the unloading of material to incoming shipping paperwork
- Verify the loading of material to outbound shipping paperwork
- Check minimum quantities are met before loading for outside processor shipments
- Unloading of steel trucks
- Measurement of inbound material is required for dimensional checks
- Schedule customer trucking via designated websites and/or via email
- Print pick sheet, check for any special instructions, pull product and scan barcode labels for shipment
- Verify skid count and box/container count matches customer order
- Send ASN (shipment notification) for customer shipments
- Maintain up to date receiving records
- Documents and follows escalation on discrepancies with shipments
- Print shipping paperwork and obtain driver signatures
- Perform safety checks daily on equipment
- Communicate within department via email and using radio
- Cycle counting

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years Manufacturing
- Minimum of 3 years of Hilo Experience, carrying max loads
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Plex experience, preferred
- Unloading of steel trucks, preferred
- Use of calipers and/or measuring tape, preferred
- Crane experience 1-3 years, required
- Coil loading and handling 1-3 years, required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
