Job Summary:
A Spot Resistance Welder's job involves joining metal pieces and structures using various welding techniques, requiring precision, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and follow specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Evaluate print for feasibility
- Turn on the welding machine (switch) and boot up, switch programs.
- Gather up parts from bin kitted by materials team.
- Get parts ready and start welding
- Get parts from Laser Department or Tool Room
- Job sheet and material sheet (paperwork): includes blueprint, quantity of material required
- Log into PLEX to complete a job
- Counting parts produced per day (count manually and then log into PLEX)
- Print label once a day for parts that are created
- Label must stay with parts (traveler)
- Label bin, which needs to be visible for the next operation
- If a low volume job, will clean parts as they are welded with handheld 90 grinder
- Put fixtures together for first piece check - job specific
- Work with the Design Team to ensure drawings are accurate or to verify measurements for parts
- Run parts - quality parts are approved
- Determine operation sequence required to produce part
- Show operator do's and don'ts of job
- Work with shipping for outside processes
- Quality checks and safety
- Welds, solders, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products, using hand tools, power tools, and equipment. Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints, using hand tools, power tools, and lifting and handling devices.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associates degree, Certification, or equivalent combination of work and education.
Minimum 1 year with Mig, and Tig required
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Hours for this position are Mon-Fri 5am-3:30pm
