About the Role
This is a unique, blended position that combines hands-on work with HR responsibilities. Roughly 60–70% of your time will be spent on the production floor, actively performing a variety of hands-on jobs and stepping in wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly. The remaining 30–40% will focus on key HR functions such as recruiting, onboarding, conducting orientations, and supporting workforce development initiatives.

HR Responsibilities
- Recruit and hire hourly employees, including interviewing, selecting candidates to PTI standards, completing new hire paperwork, and coordinating orientation.
- Communicate new hire details, including names and wage information, to appropriate parties.
- Manage scheduling needs by contacting on-call employees as required.
- Administer payroll processes with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Maintain the Plex HRIS system, ensuring data integrity and generating reports as needed.
- Administer HR programs and policies for all associates.
- Conduct new associate orientations to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Address and resolve employee relations issues, including handling disciplinary actions and maintaining proper documentation.
- File and maintain associate records, reports, and applicant logs.
- Support training and development initiatives across the organization.
- Maintain the company organizational chart and associate contact directory.
- Order and manage office supplies as needed.
- Provide receptionist support when required.
- Perform additional HR and administrative duties as assigned.
Floor Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise a team of employees in inspection, quality control, and production procedures for purchased, in-process, and finished materials to ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality standards.
- Plan, assign, and provide training for team members to support operational excellence.
- Develop or adapt inspection tools and equipment to meet quality control standards, and recommend improvements to procedures, standards, and equipment.
- Analyze problems, identify root causes, and determine appropriate corrective actions within standard practices.
- Compile, maintain, and update work instructions, inspection reports, and related records.
- Investigate causes of defective work and collaborate with production supervisors to implement corrective measures.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, and positive morale within the department in a fast-paced environment.
- Actively communicate with customers regarding requirements, schedules, and quality expectations.
- Ensure adherence to 5S practices, safety rules, and company policies.
- Participate in semi-annual work reviews and support ISO/IATF compliance by following established procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and all company standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred or equivalent training
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Knowledgeable in the principles and practices of Human Resources
- Prior experience with an HRIS Database
- Prior experience with computerized payroll software
- Proven ability to develop and motivate a team
- Must have leadership experience
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time daily
- Must be open to becoming Forklift Certified if not already
Schedule
Must be available Monday through Friday with weekend availability. Must be able to work overtime
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 per year
