Senior Product Manager

PTG
Wixom, MI Full Time
POSTED ON 10/21/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/19/2026

Purpose

PTG helps brands connect with their customers in the physical world. Digital IQ is how we show what happens when they do. It turns the screens, sensors and systems inside a space into intelligence that every team responsible for that space can use: how people move, what they respond to, and what actually drives results.

This role will own the strategy, roadmap and outcomes for Digital IQ as it grows from early customers into a platform that scales. You'll turn real customer problems into shipped software that increases revenue, retention and adoption, working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, operations and the field teams who install and support every system.

Responsibilities

Strategy and Discovery

  • Own the vision and multi-quarter roadmap for Digital IQ, tied to company goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Get close to customers. Run discovery through interviews, site visits, usage data, support tickets, win/loss analysis and market research, and spend real time in the spaces where Digital IQ is deployed.
  • Understand every team that touches a physical space, including IT, marketing, store design, operations and procurement. Each one buys and uses Digital IQ for different reasons, and the roadmap has to serve all of them.
  • Run our founding partner and pilot programs as a learning engine, turning early deployments into validated requirements, proof points and a repeatable path from pilot to multi-site rollout.
  • Keep a sharp read on the competitive landscape, from people counting and retail analytics to audience measurement and digital signage platforms, and know exactly where Digital IQ wins.

Building the Product

  • Prioritize based on customer value, business impact, effort and technical risk, and make the reasoning visible to the people affected by it.
  • Define what to build by writing clear PRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria. Partner with engineering and design on prototypes and usability testing.
  • Work in an agile cadence with engineering leads, make fast scope trade-offs, clear blockers and help the team ship faster.
  • Own the whole product, not just the software. That includes sensors (LiDAR, cellular and camera-based), edge devices, data pipelines and the dashboards customers use every day. Work with hardware partners and our operations team on sensor selection, installation standards and deploying at scale.
  • Shape the integration roadmap. Digital IQ draws on content management systems, connected devices and customer business systems like point of sale, so integrations are central to the value, not an add-on.
  • Define how Digital IQ measures what matters, from traffic and dwell to attention and outcomes, and make sure the data is accurate, explainable and aligned with industry standards such as IAB in-store retail media guidelines.
  • Build privacy and data trust into the product from the start, including anonymization, data retention, consent and compliance with the privacy laws that govern sensing in public spaces.

Growth and Go to Market

  • Own product KPIs such as sites and sensors live, time to first insight, data accuracy and uptime, feature adoption, net revenue retention, churn and expansion.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, operations and customer success on positioning, pricing and packaging, launch plans and enablement, and help sales land with one team and expand across the organization.
  • Lead client conversations as the product expert, from discovery and demos to roadmap discussions with enterprise buyers and founding partners.
  • Communicate roadmap, progress and trade-offs to executives, customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Build PTG's product practice from the ground up, putting the processes, documentation and habits in place that let us build software well as the portfolio grows.

Qualifications

We care more about judgment and adaptability than title history. Some of the best product thinkers have never held the PM title. If you've been a product owner, sales engineer, engineer or engineering manager and you think like a product person, we want to hear from you.

  • 5 years in product management, product ownership, sales engineering, software engineering or engineering management, with meaningful time on B2B software sold to enterprise customers.
  • A track record of shipping products end to end, from discovery through launch and iteration, with measurable results, whatever your title was at the time.
  • Sound product judgment. You make clear roadmap and trade-off decisions, explain your reasoning, and adjust quickly when the evidence says you should.
  • Confidence leading client conversations and translating what you hear into product decisions.
  • Genuine interest in hardware and data, and real excitement about bringing them together to deliver useful insights and value to customers.
  • Technical curiosity and practical AI fluency. You use AI tools in your own work and see where AI can make the product, and the team, faster and smarter.
  • Fluency with SaaS business models and metrics such as ARR, NRR, churn, CAC and LTV, and how recurring revenue works alongside services and hardware.
  • Experience with sales-led products bought by multi-stakeholder enterprise buying groups.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable with SQL or product analytics tools.
  • Technical depth to discuss APIs, integrations, data models and architecture trade-offs with engineers and clients.
  • Experience with agile delivery and tools such as Jira and GitLab.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, from engineering specs to executive briefings, and the habits to keep a distributed team aligned without being in the same room.
  • Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity. You've helped build or scale an early-stage product, ideally as the first or only product person, and you use just enough process to help the team move faster, never to slow it down.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred

  • Experience with connected hardware, IoT or sensor-based products, where software, devices and physical installation all have to work together.
  • Experience building data or analytics products, where the data itself is the product and accuracy, clarity and trust are what customers pay for.
  • Background in retail technology, digital signage, retail media, location analytics or in-store measurement.
  • Experience in one of our core verticals: retail, automotive, banking and financial services, or restaurants and hospitality.
  • Background building platform products, APIs or third-party integrations.
  • Familiarity with enterprise requirements such as SSO, role-based access, audit logs and SOC 2, along with privacy frameworks like GDPR, CCPA and biometric privacy laws.
  • Experience shipping AI/ML-powered features in production, especially computer vision or sensor data.
