Job Summary:  

Performs duties to set up, adjust, and operate tube pointer machine to reduce the diameter on one end of tubes.  Receives direction from Shift Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Conscientiously work toward running a safer and cleaner operation.
• Ensure that all guards are always in place.
• Set up, install, and adjust tools, clamps, targets, etc. for product size and desired point diameter and length.
• Operate controls and feed tubing into machine to produce pointed tubing as per order instructions.
• Verify tubing presented to machine for pointing corresponds to work order.
• Verify points produced conform to order instructions.
• Perform minor polishing of dies and clamps if/when necessary.
• Accurately and legibly complete product tags and production records.
• Use common hand tools and tape measure.
• Communicate with employees on other shifts regarding status of operations, equipment, and special assignments.
• Refer concerns about tubing quality or equipment condition to Shift Supervisor.
• Assist maintenance repairmen in repair of pointer.
• Assumes various other duties at the direction of the shift supervisor.

Must have knowledge on simple computer programming. Requires excellent measurement skills. Ability to follow instructions from technical parameters. Perform duties proficiently, and be able to work in a fast paced environment with ability to handle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands. Must have strong work ethic. Must be able to work flexible schedules and hours.
