The Director of Nursing oversees all nursing operations within a residential behavioral health and substance use treatment setting. This role manages a 74-bed facility along with additional outpatient census, with a strong focus on staffing, medication management, compliance, and day-to-day clinical oversight.
This position is hands-on and includes both leadership and floor support as needed. The DON leads a team of RNs, LPNs, and medication aides, ensuring appropriate coverage, training, and performance across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage nursing staff including hiring, training, scheduling, timecards, and performance management
- Ensure full staffing coverage, including coordinating PRN and agency staff as needed
- Oversee medication management processes, working closely with pharmacy and providers to maintain accuracy and availability
- Monitor and audit documentation, including admissions and ongoing chart reviews
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and CARF standards
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and systems
- Collaborate with clinical and case management teams on patient care and treatment planning
- Support intake processes and ensure smooth coordination for daily admissions
- Lead performance improvement initiatives and address clinical or operational gaps
- Provide on-call support and assist with coverage when needed
The population includes individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. Experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or similar settings is strongly preferred. This is an unlocked, hands-off environment requiring strong de-escalation and clinical judgment skills.

$125K
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday - Friday. Standard hours. On call required.
