As a Cultural Resources Specialist on our Environmental Resources Team in Saratoga Springs, you will contribute to a variety of environmental and infrastructure projects through archaeological fieldwork, construction monitoring, excavation support, and technical documentation. This opportunity is well suited for individuals who enjoy hands-on field assignments, adapt well to fast-paced project environments, and are committed to preserving cultural resources.

What You'll Do

  • Field Surveys & Monitoring
    Perform archaeological surveys, excavation, construction monitoring, and documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines
  • Resource Identification
    Identify archaeological and paleontological resources and communicate findings to construction personnel, tribal representatives, and project teams
  • Field Documentation
    Maintain monitoring logs, prepare daily reports, site records, and related project documentation
  • Team Coordination
    Communicate effectively with field crews, project managers, tribal representatives, and agency staff
  • Field Operations
    Travel to project sites and safely navigate rugged terrain while conducting fieldwork assignments
  • Project Support
    Assist with curation tasks and support additional cultural resource assignments as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Paleontology, Geology, or related field, or equivalent field experience
  • Ability to work independently in outdoor and potentially adverse field conditions
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork for extended periods and navigate rugged terrain while carrying equipment and supplies
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules, including possible night work, based on project needs and weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record
  • Experience driving 4x4 vehicles in remote or undeveloped terrain
  • Must be at least 25 years old to operate company vehicles
  • Archaeological or paleontological field experience in Utah or the western United States is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $22.00-$30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
