Commercial Building Janitor

About the Role:

The Commercial Building Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of commercial properties across the United States. This position ensures that all common areas, offices, restrooms, and other facilities are cleaned to a high standard, creating a welcoming and hygienic environment for employees, clients, and visitors. The janitor is responsible for routine cleaning tasks as well as addressing any immediate cleaning needs that arise throughout the day. By performing these duties diligently, the janitor helps to uphold the reputation of the building management and contributes to the smooth operation of the commercial space. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in commercial or office building environments.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and procedures.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal in all designated areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
• Maintain floors by stripping, waxing, and buffing to ensure a polished and safe surface.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the building management promptly.
• Follow all safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and stored properly after use.

Job details:

Part time - 10 hours per week

Starting at $14-$15 per hour
