Job Summary:
Organizing and managing the day to day functions of the Air Import Gateways, to meet the needs of the Company’s customers and provide high rate of return. Accountabilities include consolidation, internal operational service, securing air release of ULD’s from airline and our CFS (Container Freight Stations). Opening Break bulk files for Air Import GW’s and hand off to BDP and third party brokerage.
Essential Functions:
- Negotiates regionally with Truckers for competitive rates for final mile delivery.
- Resolves air import challenges for our internal and external customers.
- Uses global knowledge of import requirements for shipments arriving or transiting in bond from the USA.
- Communicates daily with our core and regional air carriers, CFS and final mile providers.
- Meets all accounting requirements, keeping our payables current and accurate per company policy, completes monthly statements for accounts receivable.
- Attends various regulatory training/seminars/meetings with Airlines and CFS.
- Performs other job-related duties and functions as required.
- Processing Customs Entries.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a customer service type environment preferred.
- Prefer at least one (1) to two (2) years of experience handling import trafficking functions.
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Good communication and organization skills and a strong attention to detail are required.
- The ability to work on a team and leadership experience is strongly desired.
- Candidate should have the ability to learn various computer programs.
