Position Summary

As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a talented Technical Designer to join our Warren office and contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects. The Technical Designer will support engineers and project managers in preparing civil site design plans, technical documents, and permitting packages. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed design work, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is ready to grow professionally within a respected consulting practice. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to meaningful land development projects across New Jersey/New York.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop site civil design plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, utilities, stormwater, erosion control, and site/roadway layouts
- Prepare construction documents, plan sets, exhibits, and technical calculations
- Assist with stormwater modeling and hydrologic/hydraulic analysis
- Preparation of technical reports including stormwater management reports with support from senior staff
- Support State, county, and municipal permitting efforts and assist in permit application preparation
- Coordinate with surveyors, architects, utility companies, and municipal reviewers and attend meetings
- Conduct field visits to gather visual and photographic site information
- Support construction administration and construction observation activities
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with cost estimates
- Maintain project documentation and adhere to firm drafting and quality standards
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (recent graduates welcome)
- 0–4 years of professional experience in site civil design within a consulting environment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (grading, surfaces, pipe networks, alignments)
- Understanding of New Jersey / New York permitting processes (NYSDEC, NJDEP, county and local planning/zoning boards, soil conservation districts, utility services)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
