What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ice Cream Maker & Cafe Merchandiser position at Pruett's Market?
Overview
Pruett’s Market is a locally owned, community-minded grocery store expanding our scratch bakery and cafe team to produce high-quality, handcrafted goods.
What You’ll Do:
- Ice Cream Production: Handcraft signature ice creams, sorbets, and mix-ins from scratch using our commercial gelato machine churn while maintaining strict kitchen sanitation standards.
- Retail Merchandising: Maintain organized freezer storage, schedule product dating and thawing, and stock/style retail displays in front of the cafe and near registers. Track inventory counts to assist management with ordering.
- Secondary Cafe Support: Cross-train on the register to assist cafe guests during peak rush hours, package fresh baked goods, and slice bread upon customer request.
What We’re Looking For:
- 1 years in a commercial kitchen, bakery, or cafe environment (experience with commercial churns/gelato machinery or inventory management is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills, recipe precision, and attention to detail for inventory tracking and visual display
- Friendly customer service skills for backing up the register and bakery counter
- ServSafe or Food Handler certification is a plus, but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
