Essential Duties and Functions
- Perform engineering calculations and apply engineering principles to assist in the successful design, creation,
- and delivery of all electrical AutoCAD and Revit drawings for each client Project
- Write, edit, and produce the accompanying specifications for each client project
- Review and approve shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, addendums, and other construction documents as
- assigned for electrical-related items
- Conduct field work and complete field reports on electrical-related items to verify design as assigned
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 electrical codes
- Working knowledge of design standards and processes
- Working knowledge of lighting and lighting controls
- Working knowledge of fire alarm systems
- Working knowledge of power and power distribution systems, including emergency power
- Beginning knowledge of LTY mission and vision; business leadership roles
- Adaptable and open to learning new technologies and methodologies to stay in the forefront
- of electrical engineering advancements
- Participate in client meetings as necessary and/or as assigned by supervisor
- Participate in career development training as assigned by supervisor or Human Resources
Required Skills and Knowledge
• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) examination
• Certified by the State of Texas as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines
• Ability to work well on a team
• Exceptional written and verbal skills
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
• Knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of building codes
• Previous experience in a MEP consulting environment
• Previous experience designing MEP systems for schools
• Experience in the design of lighting and lighting controls, fire alarms, power and power distribution, technology systems, as well as other standard electrical systems for commercial
