Position Summary A Program Leader Sub is responsible for managing a classroom , ensuring the safety of students and facilitating daily implementation of each program. Programs may include but are not limited to: sports, STEM, Coding, nutrition, outdoor education, and creative arts. Working hours are based on site need and employee’s availability.
Requirements / Qualifications
Primary Role and Responsibilities Support student mastery of new skills through project-based learning Maintain a culture of safety and well-being with students in both the classroom and outdoor setting Establish clear, consistent expectations for behavior and positive discipline. Ensure that every student feels known, accepted, valued and respected. Build and maintain a high level of trust through effective communication methods. Model and promote the mission and values of ProYouth through appropriate appearance, words and actions. Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g., classroom, playground, library, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school and ProYouth expectations and procedures regarding student behavior and participation and/or providing a safe, respectful and positive learning environment. Work in conjunction with the Site Director and all program staff to ensure that activities are exciting and relevant to youth as well as well-thought out and organized. Address issues, concerns, and challenges to immediate supervisor Build positive and professional relationships with coworkers, supervisors, ProYouth executive and administrative staff, site principal, teachers and parents. Participation in professional development, staff meetings, site training and professional learning communities Participate as a positive team member for the purpose of enhancing and sharing knowledge and skills for the delivery of best practices. Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned within the scope and range of knowledge base and training.
Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent AND 48 completed College Units OR NCLB Paraprofessional Certification A minimum of two years’ experience working with youth is desirable
