Primary Roles:
Responsible for the implementation of ProYouth’ s college-and-career readiness projects at one assigned high school within the ProYouth XL program
  • Work in collaboration with Area Program Manager and Site Director to do outreach and create awareness for their services
  • Recruit and provide services to students and parents with college and career awareness, advising sessions and workshops
    • Please note that the site assignment is subject to change depending on site need
 
Primary Role and Responsibilities
  • Create a physically and emotionally safe environment at site for both staff and students
  • Ensure that every student feels known, accepted, valued and respected; communicating in ways that build and maintain high levels of trust
  • Maintain awareness of ProYouth Program goals and processes
  • Comply with ProYouth Employee Handbook and other Policies and Procedures
  • Build positive and professional relationships with coworkers, supervisors, ProYouth executive and administrative staff, site principal, teachers and parents
  • Complete responsibilities accurately and on time
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned within scope and range of training and knowledge base.
  • Support and demonstrate commitment to the ProYouth vision and goals at all times
  • Support and engage high school students in post-secondary planning that fits their strengths and interests, increasing awareness and access to various options
  • Coordinate programming in areas such as post-secondary education options, financial aid, career exploration through workshops, events, individual and small group counseling and classroom presentation
  • Gather relevant dates, timeframes and deadlines for college specific application processes
  • Collaborate with high school Guidance Counselors, school-site administration, and ProYouth program staff to deliver college and career readiness services to students that fit the school population’s needs
  • Support with coordination of college field trips and college and career fairs
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, school, community colleges, and partner personnel
  • Participate in site staff meetings, and training workshops that relate to the goals and objectives of the program
  • Coordinate the collection and input of evaluation data used to measure ongoing program effectiveness of services and program outcome measures

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, liberal studies or related area or equivalent required
  • Experience in college access, student services, financial aid, or college admissions required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience providing direct services to students and parents, multicultural populations or under-prepared students
  • Bilingual/Spanish strongly preferred
 
General Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a DOJ/FBI background check.
  • Must receive TB clearance.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation which may include alternative means of transportation such as public transit, ride sharing, and or biking.
Physical Demands
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, perform grasping and handling motions and torso rotations on a continuous basis
  • Able to lift and carry 25 pounds of materials
  • Able to reach in all directions
  • Adequate sight or corrected vision for the purpose of reading directions and printed or written materials
  • Able to hear and speak to communicate with coworkers, students and the public
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment
