- You will be the first face that greets members and guests upon entering the coworking space.
- You will make sure the facility amenities are proactively maintained for a high-quality member experience.
- You will assist new members joining the community to learn the ropes and will help trouble-shoot issues for members as needed.
- You will capture photo/video content during member activities, events, and community programming to support digital storytelling and marketing.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Community Operations Coordinator
Work Location: Provident1898, 411 West Chapel Hill Street, Suite C2, Durham, NC 27701
Work Schedule: Part-time. Weekdays, excluding holidays. 20 hours per week, with majority of hours between 8:30am-2:30pm M-F, and occasional evenings.
Compensation: Starting at $18/hour, with opportunities for growth.
Reports to: Community Manager
Job Duties: The Coordinator will play an essential role in maintaining the rhythm of the space while helping ensure operational excellence across member services, events, and community engagement.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, operations, relationship-building, and creating environments where people feel both inspired and supported. This position offers growth potential for candidates interested in long-term leadership within community operations and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
Member & Guest Experience
- Serve as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for members, guests, and visitors
- Support onboarding and orientation for new members
- Assist members with day-to-day operational needs and troubleshooting
- Help cultivate a warm, polished, and professional environment throughout the space
Operations & Facility Support
- Maintain the organization and presentation of common areas, meeting rooms, and shared amenities
- Monitor and restock office, kitchen, and hospitality supplies
- Coordinate facility requests and communicate with building management as needed
- Assist with mail/package distribution and operational systems management
- Help ensure the space consistently reflects Provident1898’s standards of excellence
Community & Program Support
- Support member engagement and relationship-building initiatives
- Assist with community events, workshops, and partner activations
- Provide logistical support for programs and external partnerships
- Monitor digital channels and flag engagement opportunities when appropriate
Digital Storytelling Content & Engagement
- Capture photo/video content during member activities, partner events, and community programming
- Assist in documenting the ongoing story and culture of Provident1898 through digital content and social media support
- Help identify meaningful moments, member stories, and partnership highlights that support Provident1898’s visibility and marketing efforts
Qualifications
- Experience in hospitality, operations, customer service, community management, events, or related fields
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to anticipate needs and problem-solve proactively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, arts, or community-centered work is strongly encouraged
- Comfortable capturing photo/video content using a smartphone and social media platforms
- Interest in storytelling, digital engagement, community-building, or creative marketing strongly encouraged
- Experience with Instagram, LinkedIn, Canva, Mailchimp, or similar digital tools is a plus
- Able to work in person at the Provident1898 facility
- 18 years or older, with reliable transportation, and an iPhone or Android smartphone
