Provident IT Partners is an IT Staffing firm dedicated to serving clients with their essential technology resource needs. We have a client seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to join their team.

Details:

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Houston, TX

Work type: Hybrid

Status: Full-time

The Senior Marketing Manager will build and run the client’s marketing engine end-to-end. Reporting directly to the Head of Growth, this person will be the senior marketing leader on the ground — a player-coach who is equally comfortable setting brand strategy, writing a technical blog post, briefing a designer, optimizing a Google Ads campaign, and shipping a website update before lunch.

This is a true one-person marketing team at the outset, with budget authority and a direct seat at the leadership table. You will define what the company’s brand stands for in the power market software category, translate complex capabilities into clear commercial stories, and build a pipeline engine that consistently feeds our sales motion. Over time, you will have the opportunity to scale and lead the team you build.

What you will own:

  • Brand and Positioning — steward the company and it’s software’s brands, refine positioning and messaging, and ensure every customer touchpoint reflects a consistent, confident, and industry-credible identity.
  • Website, SEO, and AEO — own the company’s website end-to-end: information architecture, copy, publishing, conversion optimization, analytics, and technical SEO. Build out our Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy so the Company and it’s product surface in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews when buyers research the category. Drive measurable growth in organic traffic, AI citations, and demo requests.
  • Digital Advertising and Demand Generation — plan, launch, and optimize paid campaigns across Google, LinkedIn, and industry publications. Own budget, attribution, and pipeline impact.
  • Content Strategy and Creation — build an editorial calendar and produce thought leadership, case studies, solution briefs, blog posts, videos, and webinars that resonate with power traders, schedulers, settlement teams, and C-suite energy operators. Use Claude, ChatGPT, and the broader AI tooling stack to research faster, draft sharper, and ship more.
  • AI-Augmented Marketing Operations — treat AI as a force multiplier across the entire function. Build the prompts, playbooks, custom GPTs/projects, and workflow automations that let one marketer punch like a team — across research, copywriting, design ideation, campaign analysis, competitive intelligence, and reporting.
  • LinkedIn and Social Presence — run the company’s page and partner with executives on personal brand amplification; turn LinkedIn into a durable source of awareness and inbound.
  • Design and Creative — produce and direct high-quality design work across digital, print, and event collateral. Manage external freelancers or agencies where helpful, but ship polished work yourself when required.
  • Sales Enablement and Collateral — build and maintain the full library of customer-facing assets — pitch decks, one-pagers, demo scripts, case studies, RFP content — and keep everything on-brand, accurate, and current.
  • Events and Industry Presence — plan and execute the Company’s presence at ISO/RTO and industry conferences, including booth design, pre-show campaigns, and post-event follow-up.
  • Measurement and Reporting — define the marketing KPIs that matter, instrument them properly, and report results and learnings to the executive team on a regular cadence.
  • Team Leadership — as a member of the company’s leadership group, contribute to overall strategy, hire and develop the marketing team over time, and help shape the company’s culture as we grow

Required Experience:

  • 8 years of progressive B2B marketing experience, with meaningful time in software, SaaS, or enterprise technology.
  • Demonstrated range across the full marketing stack — brand, website, SEO, paid media, content, design, and sales enablement — with tangible results you can point to in each area.
  • A true self-starter who thrives operating autonomously, sets their own priorities, and consistently ships high-quality work without needing close supervision.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to make technical subject matter clear, compelling, and commercially sharp.
  • Working proficiency with modern marketing tooling — CMS platforms, Google Analytics, Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, SEO tools, HubSpot or equivalent CRM/marketing automation, and design tools such as Figma, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • AI-forward operating style with hands-on fluency in Claude, ChatGPT, and the broader AI tooling ecosystem. You have real opinions about prompting, evaluation, and where AI does and does not add value, and you have a track record of using these tools to ship more and better marketing work.
  • Strong design sensibility — you know what good looks like and can execute it, direct others to execute it, or both.
  • A data-driven mindset: comfortable setting targets, instrumenting funnels, running experiments, and making decisions from what the numbers say.
  • Executive presence and strong cross-functional collaboration skills; able to partner effectively with sales, product, and engineering leaders.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Strong technical B2B marketing background in complex, regulated, or high-stakes markets — energy, financial services, commodities, healthcare, supply chain, defense, industrial software, or similar — where buyers are sophisticated and the substance of the message matters as much as the design.
  • Direct experience marketing into power, energy, utilities, or ISO/RTO operations — or an adjacent technical B2B space where you had to quickly develop domain fluency.
  • Familiarity with wholesale power markets, energy trading, scheduling, meter data, settlements, or grid operations.
  • Experience marketing a platform product to sophisticated enterprise buyers (IPPs, utilities, traders, developers).
  • Early-stage or scale-up experience where you have been the first or second marketing hire.
