Summer - ESY/ Sea Perch Program - Nurse Teacher

Location: Anthony Carnevale Elementary School/DelSesto Middle School (share locations)

Summer School Nurse Teacher for ESY (up to 1 positions)

Prep Days [NOT PD Days]: June 29-30, 2026

Program Dates: Mon-Thurs July 6-30, 2026

Data Day: July 31, 2026

Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Pay $40/hr  (contingent upon enrollment and funding)

Under direction of the school principal and/or appropriate supervisor, the school nurse will be responsible for monitoring all the medical needs of the student(s) assigned to them during the school day.

EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

RIDE Requirements:

•  PK-12 Nurse 

ESL Preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS:

• Extensive course work and/or experience with moderately to severely disabled students
• Must be experienced with trachea care, G and J Tubes, ventilators, and know CPR
• Must be willing to work entire dates

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES:

• Monitors health status and problems of each student, e.g. seizures, illness, medication, tracheas, J-Tubes, G-Tubes, ventilators, etc.
• Provides appropriate interventions for student, e.g., suctioning, feeding through G-Tube, catheterization, etc.
• Provides emergency treatment, if necessary, to student in medical crisis
• Assists in all aspects of self-care.
• Consults with Nurse/Health Administrator, staff, and parents.
• Any other duties deemed necessary by the Directors of Special Populations.
• Attend field trips as needed.
• Nurse to provide coverage for children in ESY program and for all summer learning opportunities that are held in their assigned school as appropriate.
• Substitute for other nurses attending field trips.
• Must commit to work all days of ESY program
• Attend field trips
