PVD Prep is a 5th through 8th grade college preparatory, tuition-free public charter school for Providence, Rhode Island. PVD Prep seeks a passionate and highly skilled School Nurse Teacher who is willing and able to move mountains for the PVD Prep raptors. Your specific duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Providing basic first aid, administer medications, and perform nursing procedures as necessary Performing ongoing health status evaluations and medication/treatment reviews in order to identify health needs and potential problems Documenting all nursing care and changes in student health status Communicating with families (and health care providers as appropriate) regularly regarding students’ health needs Teaching or coordinate the teaching of health curriculum to students Supporting school-wide wrap-around supports, including the facilitation of counseling and behavioral mental health services Working closely with students with behavior challenges and their families; partner with school support staff, wrap around and teachers to execute individualized behavior interventions when needed Providing staff with annual professional development related to blood-borne pathogens, universal precautions and basic first aid Promote overall health and well-being through staff and student education regarding effective health and safety practices Ensuring that staff CPR certifications are up to date Monitoring student health records to ensure immunizations and physicals are current Maintaining security of school health supplies
