What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grants Coordinator position at Providence House Inc?

Major Functions: Responsible for securing critical funding from current and prospective foundations at the local, state, and
national levels, assisting in the stewardship of foundation relationships, and leading research for prospective funders.
Fund Development
Execute annual plan to identify, monitor, and secure funding from foundations and donor advised funds (DAF) to meet needs
of operations, special programming, and capital projects.
Assist in the development and execution of long-range and short-range strategies and plans to identify, cultivate, solicit, and
steward foundation and DAF prospects with the support of the Grants Manager.
Participate in internal departmental conversations to determine strategic funding needs of the organization. Research and
identify funding opportunities that match the needs of the organization with the priorities of the funder.
Initiate, establish, and maintain contact with potential and existing foundations and DAF donors and advisors as directed by
the Grants Manager.
Achieve KPIs set by the Grants Manager and Donor Relations Director such as annual foundation dollars raised, percentage
of grant renewals, and percentage of new applications submitted.
Facilitate the planning and execution of grant proposals and reports, including serving as the liaison between departments to
create timelines, gather narrative, financial, or statistical information. Works with Grants Manager to create timely requests for
information and outcomes data needs.
Write and submit compelling application narratives, budgets, supplemental material, and reports for grants in strict adherence
of foundation formatting requirements and deadline dates. Document all activities.
Support the planning and execution of all foundation-related events, site visits, and outreach with Board of Directors and
Providence House staff related to foundation requests, relationships, and site visit representation with the support of the
Grants Manager.
Maintain tracking systems (including Excel, Raiser’s Edge, Monday) identifying foundations to solicit, pertinent deadlines,
previous relationship history, current giving priorities, and compile financial and donor-related queries and reports as needed.
Monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual activity to achieve revenue goals. Review and report on progress to the Grants
Manager and other departments as related.
Research and Evaluation
Perform prospect and donor research to identify new and existing foundation and DAF donors in various platforms including
FDO and Raiser’s Edge.
Support efforts to produce annual impact report to communicate agency outcomes internally and externally.
Assist with external evaluation efforts as appropriate.
General Duties
Participate in events and outreach efforts and as a representative of the organization at conferences, meetings, speaking
engagements, external events, and Providence House special events as assigned.
Assist in managing and routing incoming telephone calls and visitors and donors at the doors.
Undertake other projects as requested by the Donor Relations Director and Grants Manager.
Be culturally competent and supportive of diversity in both service to clients and through professional interactions with
donors and guests.
Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills
? Bachelor’s Degree or related experience in English, Journalism, Research, and Communication preferred
? Nonprofit experience in grant writing, research, and submission preferred
? Must be a motivated, self-starter and able to function productively and effectively with a degree of autonomy
? Accuracy and attention to detail required
? Possesses exceptional writing, proofreading, and editorial skills for both technical and creative writing
? Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access; experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred
? Multi-disciplinary thinker with the ability to understand new concepts and complex subjects
? Possesses excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adhere to strict deadlines
