SUMMARY: The Buffet Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking buffet food items to menu specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
• Cook the exact number of items to keep buffet stocked
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
• Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared
• Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles
• Pre-cook items such as bacon, in order to prepare them for later use
• Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
• Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking
• Clean, stock, and restock workstations
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 years' cooking experience, preferably high volume

DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

• Continually required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, and twist
• Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 lbs.
• Frequent exposure to extreme heat or cold and loud noise

SALARY: 13.00 to 16.00

HOURS:  32 weekly
