PROVEN Moving Solutions is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the daily execution of our commercial moving, logistics, and installation operations.
We are looking for an experienced operations or facilities professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, knows how to lead and develop field personnel, understands financial performance, and is comfortable being onsite where the work happens.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations across multiple projects and job sites
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop field staff
- Build and maintain a reliable workforce of movers, installers, drivers, leads, and supervisors
- Coordinate labor, crews, vehicles, equipment, and subcontractors
- Work with Project Managers to ensure projects are properly staffed and operationally ready
- Set performance expectations, coach employees, address performance issues, and hold staff accountable
- Conduct job-site visits and provide hands-on leadership and training
- Oversee warehouse, equipment, vehicle, and resource readiness
- Review labor hours, overtime, job costs, and operational performance
- Protect project schedules, quality, safety, and profitability
- Develop and enforce SOPs, training standards, and operational controls
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors, and labor partners
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in facilities, commercial moving, logistics, construction, installation, or operations management
- Demonstrated experience recruiting, hiring, training, and managing field-based employees
- Strong experience managing hourly labor personnel
- Strong scheduling, workforce planning, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of budgets, job costing, labor costs, and operational metrics
- Comfortable working onsite and making decisions in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft 365, and basic scheduling/project management tools
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- FMP or similar facilities/operations credential preferred
- PMP is a plus
Work Environment
This is not a desk-only position. The Operations Manager will work across the office, warehouse, and active job sites throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
The typical schedule is Monday through Friday; however, commercial relocation work may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional travel based on project schedules.
We are looking for someone who can build a strong team, understand the numbers, solve problems quickly, and take ownership of the operation.
Pay: From $95,000.00 per year
