Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare individual federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Assist in preparing corporate federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Assist in preparing state sales tax returns.
- Assist in preparing federal, state, and local payroll tax returns.
- Conduct tax research and provide guidance on complex tax matters.
- Support tax audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Review financial statements to identify tax implications and planning opportunities.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate their impact on tax compliance and reporting.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Maintain compliance with applicable tax regulations and internal standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA or EA certification preferred or actively pursuing.
- Experience in individual tax return preparation, with exposure to corporate tax return preparation considered an advantage.
- Experience preparing sales tax returns.
- Experience preparing payroll tax returns.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software.
- Experience with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
