About the JobRoleThe Senior Energy Engineer will play a key role in the development, analysis, and implementation of comprehensive energy efficiency and sustainability projects. This position is responsible for performing and managing detailed energy audits, developing accurate proposals, and ensuring technical excellence across all aspects of energy engineering. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical systems expertise, solid knowledge of energy modeling and financial analysis, and the ability to lead complex projects from concept through proposal submission.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate specific knowledge of mechanical/HVAC systems, electrical systems, renewable technologies, water systems, and building envelope technologies.Participate in and manage Level I, II, and III energy audits of MUSH facilities across Long Island and the greater NYC area.Perform detailed energy calculations and review calculations completed by partners.Understand utility rate tariffs.Stay informed on local utility rebates and federal incentives for energy-efficient upgrades.Apply Fit, Form, and Function principles when evaluating solutions.Conduct value engineering of products and manufacturers to help secure project awards.Verify scope accuracy for all proposed work.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and products.Take the lead in preparing complete quotes, proposals, and RFP responses with accuracy.Understand varying labor conditions (difficult, moderate, easy).Understand direct and indirect cost structures.Analyze and interpret financials related to comprehensive energy efficiency proposals.Communicate effectively with clients regarding needs, requirements, and budget considerations.Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with clients.Attend RFP walk-throughs.QualificationsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.Highly detail-oriented.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Experience reading plans, specifications, and drawings.Ability to meet project deadlines.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Preferred / Desired SkillsExperience working with school districts, EPCs, and NYSED (highly preferred).Energy modeling experience (highly preferred).Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential (preferred).
