Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and ensure a comfortable, positive experience
- Review dental care plans and address patient questions
- Collect and document medical histories and vital signs
- Perform preliminary oral exams and assess oral health conditions
- Identify signs of gum disease, cavities, or oral infection
- Perform dental cleanings and apply fluoride treatments
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Take dental impressions and x-rays
- Assist the dentist during exams and procedures
- Prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines, safety standards, and office policies
- Approximately 1 patient per hour
- Associate's degree from a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program (Bachelor's or Master's preferred but not required)
- Active Dental Hygienist license
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and dental safety regulations
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and bend as needed
