Roles And Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose eye conditions
- Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as needed
- Perform specialized vision tests (depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision)
- Diagnose and manage conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye procedures
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
- Deliver patient-centered care with a strong focus on communication and relationship-building
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and vision care
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation
- Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare compliance (HIPAA)
- Ability to prescribe medications and manage patient care independently
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
