Location: New Haven, CT

Job Summary: We are seeking a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) or Board-Eligible candidate to provide comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic care to patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and deformities.

Responsibilities

• Examine, interview, and assess patients to determine orthotic and prosthetic needs
• Fit, test, and adjust devices to ensure proper function, comfort, and alignment
• Design and develop orthopedic braces and prosthetic limbs based on physician prescriptions
• Educate patients on proper use and care of orthoses and prostheses
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Cast patients and modify molds as needed
• Select appropriate materials and components for device fabrication
• Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans and device specifications
• Repair, rebuild, and modify orthotic and prosthetic devices
• Perform hospital calls and participate in an on-call schedule
• Mentor and supervise Orthotic Fitters as needed
• Address complex patient concerns and provide clinical guidance
  
  

Job Requirements

• ABC Certification as a Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) or Board-Eligible
• Ability to perform all scope of practice duties as defined by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and patient care skills
• Open to candidates from Board-Eligible (post-residency) to experienced CPOs
• Clinical experience in orthotic and prosthetic care preferred
