Physician - Primary Care / HIV Medicine
Location: Greater New Orleans ,LA
Job Type: Full-Time
Setting: Outpatient / FQHC
Schedule: 40 hours/week (32 clinical 8 administrative)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Board-Certified Physician to provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to a diverse patient population, including individuals living with or at risk for HIV.
This position combines primary care with HIV prevention, diagnosis, and long-term management. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in HIV medicine, including the management of complex cases, and a commitment to culturally competent, non-judgmental, patient-centered care.
The physician will work within an integrated healthcare team that includes medical providers, nurses, medical assistants, case managers, behavioral health professionals, specialists, and other support staff..
Responsibilities
Provide primary care and preventive services.
Manage HIV, including complex cases and opportunistic infections.
Provide PrEP/PEP and STI screening.
Collaborate with an integrated multidisciplinary care team.
Provide outpatient, patient-centered care and timely documentation.
Participate in shared after-hours call (approximately 2-3 weeks/year).
Qualifications
MD/DO with completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency.
Board Certified In Internal Medicine Or Family Medicine Required.
2-3 years of HIV medicine experience required.
Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license.
Louisiana DEA registration and BLS certification required.
