Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Assistant Athletic Trainer to support the health and performance needs of student-athletes. The ideal candidate will assist in providing injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care across assigned sports programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prevent, evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries and illnesses
- Provide emergency care and medical referrals when necessary
- Offer education, counseling, and guidance to student-athletes
- Cover practices, games, and travel assignments as delegated
- Maintain accurate injury documentation, medical forms, and reports
- Supervise and mentor sports medicine assistants and student workers
- Assist in daily facility operations, inventory, and supply ordering
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
- Iowa Athletic Training License (or eligibility)
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel with athletic teams
