Position Summary
We are growing — and we’re looking for a Vendor Relations Manager (VRM) to join our headquarters in Norwalk, CT. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serving as the primary point of contact for vendors in your assigned geographic territory
- Building relationships with vendor leadership, decision-makers, and operations teams
- Leveraging knowledge of vendor services, specialties, and pricing to match the right vendor to each client
- Proactively assessing and addressing vendor needs while developing actionable improvement plans
- Conducting quarterly business reviews and KPI discussions to drive engagement
- Maintaining accurate vendor and contact data in Salesforce, documenting all interactions in real time
- Collaborating across departments including operations, compliance, quality assurance, corporate development, sales, and strategic accounts
- Sharing best practices with fellow VRMs to ensure consistency across vendor portfolios
- Representing Protos with professionalism, integrity, and compliance at all times
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Account management or vendor relationship experience preferred
- 2 years managing a book of business in a service environment, procurement, or sales (security industry experience a plus)
- Analytical, metrics-driven mindset with the ability to see the big picture
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address challenges quickly
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proven customer service focus for both internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and CRM systems — Salesforce expertise preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to travel up to 15% and support all U.S. time zones
- Reside within commuting distance of Norwalk, CT (relocation not provided)
