Project Manager
Location: Qualified candidates must be in a commutable distance and able to go into a client office 3 days per week in Newark, NJ.
This role focuses on delivering complex, high-impact projects across multiple business areas, including grid modernization, enterprise systems, and customer-facing platforms, within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional project teams, managing scope, schedule, cost, and contract compliance while serving as the primary customer interface
- Plan, coordinate, and execute large-scale IT projects across the full project lifecycle
- Develop and maintain project management plans, ensuring alignment with organizational and PMO standards
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders
- Establish and manage work breakdown structures (WBS), schedules, and resource plans in coordination with project schedulers
- Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, tracking actuals, and reporting accruals
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; proactively manage issues and dependencies
- Ensure requirements are gathered, documented, reviewed, and approved in accordance with established processes
- Lead governance reviews and provide regular status reporting, dashboards, and executive-level communications
- Monitor project progress, milestones, and deliverable quality to ensure successful outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8 years of experience managing IT projects, including scope, schedule, and budget
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments
- Led cross-functional coordination across Workplace, Infrastructure, and Security teams to deliver identity-driven access and endpoint modernization efforts
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and PMO processes
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership
- Experience managing project financials, including forecasting and variance analysis
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated customer-facing experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Primavera or similar project management tools
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection standards
