Job Description
Protocol Insight is looking for an electronics assembly technician with at least 4 years of relevant experience. The right candidate will have strong electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical experience, including soldering, assembly, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, and shipping products.
The position involves final prep of PCBs, assembly, test, and shipment of electronic instruments. It also includes troubleshooting, adjustment and/or calibration of final products before shipment, and ensuring our products and components meet established specifications. Job responsibilities include performing manual repair and build of various electronic components and soldering of electronic components. The ideal candidate must be able to utilize drawings, work instructions, and industry knowledge to independently complete assemblies and troubleshoot issues as required.
Desired Skills and Experience
- At least 4 years of relevant experience, an advanced degree may substitute for experience.
- Previous electro-mechanical assembly experience, with expertise in soldering and working with PCBs, especially regarding delicate and detailed solder work under magnification.
- Experience in using soldering equipment, multi-meter, heat gun, and other tools to perform mechanical and electrical product assembly and repair.
- Proficiency with standard electrical/electronic test and troubleshooting equipment, such as oscilloscope, PC, VNA, multi-meter, etc.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics and manuals.
- Ability to work from test procedures, verbal instruction, or schematics to determine the method and sequence for assembly and testing.
- Ability to work independently, identifying defects and points of failure within electrical components to troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues.
- Ability to work with standard laboratory test equipment, measurement equipment, hand tools, soldering irons, and power tools.
- Ability to create and edit documentation, report findings, and maintain detailed records of electronic operational characteristics and work performed.
- Strong attention to detail and compliance to industry, environmental, health and safety standards.
