Position Title: Visual Communications & Brand Design Specialist
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Visual Communications & Brandon Design Specialist opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Technical Visualization & 3D Model Production:
- Produce accurate CAD renderings of reactor systems, containment structures, plant layouts, and key technology components using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools — in close collaboration with engineering team members.
- Create photorealistic visualizations (Keyshot, Blender, Cinema 4D, or similar) of reactor concepts, site configurations, and technology assemblies for use in investor decks, board materials, government briefings, and public communications.
- Manage the end-to-end 3D printing workflow: prepare and optimize print files, select materials, operate or coordinate with printing services, and deliver finished scale models for boardroom presentations, congressional office visits, conference exhibitions, and media use.
- Maintain version-controlled design files as engineering designs evolve through NRC pre-application and licensing phases; document visual asset changes in coordination with the engineering team.
- Develop visual explainer assets — cross-sections, labeled diagrams, animated or static system schematics — that enable non-technical audiences to grasp core technology concepts.
- Brand Identity & Visual Standards:
- Own and evolve the company's visual brand system: logo usage, typography, color palette, iconography, data visualization style, and overall design language.
- Create and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines documentation for use by internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Design and maintain master templates for recurring deliverables: board decks, investor presentations, one-pagers, fact sheets, government leave-behinds, conference materials, and social media formats.
- Review all external-facing materials for brand consistency regardless of creator; provide design feedback and corrections as needed.
- Board, Investor & Government Materials:
- Design high-quality presentation materials for board meetings, investor updates, and fundraising decks — translating text-heavy content from the communications specialist and leadership into visually compelling, polished outputs.
- Produce briefing books, branded leave-behind packets, and visual one-pagers for DOE, NRC, and congressional meetings; design infographics that communicate complex regulatory, technical, or financial content for non-expert audiences.
- Create conference booth graphics, pull-up banners, signage, and exhibit environments for trade shows and stakeholder events.
- Social Media & Digital Content:
- Design and produce visual content across all company social channels (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube): static graphics, short-form motion graphics, data visualizations, and milestone announcement assets.
- Maintain an organized digital asset library accessible to the full marketing and communications team.
- Collaborate on visual storytelling for major company milestones — funding announcements, technology demonstrations, regulatory submissions, and leadership hires.
- Ensure all digital content meets platform-specific format, resolution, and accessibility standards.
- Photography, Video & Multimedia:
- Coordinate or directly execute photography and video capture for facility visits, laboratory milestones, leadership headshots, and team events.
- Produce or oversee short-form video content: executive messages, technology explainers, and event recap content.
- Edit and color-grade video assets; create basic motion graphics and lower-thirds for video deliverables.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering (design focus), Architecture, or related field — or equivalent professional portfolio in lieu of degree.
- 4 years of professional experience in visual communications, design, or technical illustration.
- At least 1–2 years in a startup, engineering, advanced technology, or science-adjacent environment.
- Proficiency in at least one CAD/3D modeling tool: SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Rhino, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience producing 3D renderings for non-technical or stakeholder audiences.
- Hands-on experience with 3D printing: file preparation, print operation or vendor coordination, and finishing.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and at least one of Premiere Pro or After Effects).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both technical visualization and polished branded communications design.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers or scientists to accurately represent complex physical systems.
- Comfortable operating independently in a resource-constrained startup with limited design infrastructure.
- 6-9 years of experience in design and visual communications, with demonstrated progression in responsibility.
- Prior experience creating visual assets for regulatory submissions, federal agency briefings, or Capitol Hill stakeholder materials.
- Photorealistic rendering experience using Keyshot, V-Ray, Blender Cycles, or equivalent.
- Motion graphics or animation skills (After Effects, Cinema 4D) applied to investor or public communications.
- Experience in nuclear energy, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated technology sectors.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping beyond FDM: SLA, SLS, or multi-material printing.
- AR/VR or interactive visualization experience for technology demonstration or stakeholder engagement.
- Travel Required: Approximately 15%.
- Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
- Pay Rate Range: $50-75/hr.
- Location: Prescott, Arizona
- Export control regulations require candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Legal Permanent Resident, or of a protected person status
