Position Title: Mechanical Engineer

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Mechanical Engineer opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop products in a regulated medical device environment
• Create technical requirements based on various user, customer and business needs
• Document design specifications including drafting mechanical drawings and managing BOMs
• Review design and documentation to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards
• Prepare and execute design evaluations and engineering confidence testing
• Support verification activities including testing and writing protocols and reports
• Perform benchmarking of current products
• Mechanical packaging of electronics in compact form factors
• Packaging of electronics including high voltage components
• Develop mechanical architecture concepts
• Perform trade off studies for various technical concepts based on technical requirements
• Work with suppliers to incorporate DFM and plan for tooling
• Work with limited supervision.
  
  
  

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of product development experience.
• Ability to be a self-starter, seek new and better methods, and work with minimum supervision.
• Demonstrates deep expertise in profession and medical device industry best practices.
• Ability to collaborate within a Team environment and across functions.
• Capability to discern relevant facts and in turn, effectively resolve issues.
• Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced goal-oriented environment.
• Demonstrates the understanding of deadlines and time limits, ability to accomplish goals, and the desire to win.
  
  
  

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities
• Knowledge of leading edge materials and manufacturing technologies
• Experience working in an FDA regulated environment or other regulated industry
• Experience with Solid Modeling Design tools, Creo Parametric preferred
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems
• Experience with prototyping concepts using common prototyping tools including 3D printers
• Experience with electromechanical packaging including PCBAs, flex circuits, connectors
• Experience with Injection molding, casting, sheet metal, cable design and fabrication processes
• Experience with FEA or other analysis tools for stress and thermal
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis techniques
• Hands on prototyping and 3D printing experience
• Experience as a process engineer and/or developing processes for a contract manufacturer
• Experience with Design for Reliability, Manufacturing and Service
• Experience with Design for Six Sigma or other statistics based development methodologies.
  
  
  

Job Details:

• Job Type: Contract
• Pay Rate Range: $50-65/hr.
• Location: Kirkland, WA (Onsite Required)
