Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project controls professionals (project control specialists) who are assigned to projects. Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth within the team. Manage staffing needs, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention strategies.
- Establish and maintain tools and standards for the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules and cost baselines. Implement a graded controls approach based on project size and complexity. Provide oversight to project teams to ensure quality and consistency of earned value management baselines, forecasts, and change control. Oversee establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs) for project health (e.g., SPI, CPI etc).
- Coordinate with other corporate stakeholders (e.g., Procurement, Finance, Accounting) on requirements for and information needs from projects. Lead the design and development of progress reports for senior management and other stakeholders. Utilize dashboards and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau) for real-time insights. Facilitate effective communication and alignment across departments and project teams to ensure effective implementation of project controls functions.
- Continuously improve project controls methodologies, processes, standards, and tools to enhance effectiveness and efficiency, leveraging lessons learned, benchmarking, and best practices. Perform period organizational assessments. Drive digital transformation initiatives (e.g., automation, AI, advanced analytics) in collaboration with PMCoE.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: B.S. degree in engineering, or B.A degree in business preferred.
- Minimum of eight years of project controls experience, with at least five years in leadership, managing project controls teams (people management) and complex projects.
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
- Demonstrated application of Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge principles and processes (required).
- Demonstrated application of integrated cost and schedule control, or ANSI EIA-748-C Earned Value Management System practices (required).
- High level knowledge of scheduling (P6), budgeting, ERP and other project controls tools (e.g., PRISM G2) (required).
- Experience in the nuclear industry, energy industry, power plant architect/engineering (A/E), power plant engineering procurement construction (EPC), or US Department of Energy nuclear projects. (required).
- Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent certification program completion. (preferred)
- AACE Certifications - Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) (preferred)

- Pay Range: $136,819 - $165,126 annually
- Location: Houston, TX (Onsite).
