Position Title: Fuel Handling Resident Engineer

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting FTE Fuel Handling Resident Engineer opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversight of supplier design and delivery of nuclear fuel handling systems and equipment from requirements through final design and delivery of equipment to site.
• Support design, fabrication, construction, and testing of systems and equipment.
• Coordinate and oversee design and fabrication work by suppliers, including regular on-site support at Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville, AL.
• Develop system and equipment design products such as 3D CAD models, calculations, requirements, system design descriptions, and interface control documents.
• Identify and ensure effective application of design codes such as ASME, ANS, ASTM, ASHRAE, IEEE, NFPA, and regulatory requirements.
• Present designs or participate in design reviews.
• Propose and define testing programs. Provide support and oversight during test execution, evaluation of test results, and reporting of test results.
  
  
  

Job Qualifications:

• Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Other engineering disciplines may be considered if the candidate has relevant experience. M.S. and Doctorate degrees may be credited for up to two and four years of experience respectively.
• A minimum of ten years of mechanical design experience is required
• Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
• A successful candidate must possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
• The ideal candidate will possess nuclear industry experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program.
• Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III or Section VIII a plus.
• Travel Required: Up to 15%.

• Salary Rate Range:
• Level 12: $141,385 - $212,079 (Pay rates are approved based on candidate location, education and experience).
• Level 13: $165,091 - $247,637 (Pay rates are approved based on candidate location, education and experience).
• Location: Huntsville, AL.
• Export control regulations require candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Legal Permanent Resident, or of a protected person status
