This role is ideal for a driven life sciences sales professional who enjoys networking, creating opportunities, building strategic relationships, and developing business within one of the world’s most dynamic biotech hubs.
Your Mission
As Business Developer, your primary mission will be to expand ProteoGenix’s visibility, network, and commercial activity across Boston and Cambridge biotech ecosystem.
You will actively identify and generate new business opportunities with biotech companies, pharmaceutical organizations, academic laboratories, and diagnostic companies.
This is a highly proactive “hunter” role requiring strong networking capabilities, business development mindset, and the ability to create long-term strategic relationships within the life sciences industry.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Prospecting
• Develop and execute proactive outbound business development strategies.
• Identify, approach, and engage new biotech, pharma, academic, and diagnostic accounts.
• Generate qualified opportunities through networking, prospecting, conferences, LinkedIn outreach, referrals, and targeted campaigns.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of commercial opportunities using CRM tools.
Networking & Ecosystem Development
• Represent ProteoGenix at major scientific conferences, networking events, and biotech meetings.
• Develop and strengthen ProteoGenix’s presence within the Boston/Cambridge biotech ecosystem.
• Build relationships with key opinion leaders, incubators, biotech clusters, accelerators, and strategic partners.
• Maintain high visibility within local biotech, academic laboratories and pharma communities.
Sales & Account Development
• Qualify customer projects and identify commercial opportunities across ProteoGenix’s service portfolio.
• Collaborate closely with scientific project managers and account managers to support deal progression and closing.
• Develop long-term relationships with clients to maximize customer retention and cross-selling opportunities.
• Contribute actively to commercial strategy and competitive intelligence initiatives in collaboration with the marketing teams and the sales management based in France.
Your Profile
• 3–10 years of experience in life sciences business development, biotech sales, CRO/CDMO sales, or related scientific commercial activities.
• Existing network within the Boston/Cambridge biotech ecosystem strongly preferred.
• Strong hunter mentality with proven ability to generate opportunities proactively.
• Results-driven mindset with a strong focus on business growth and performance.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced international environment.
• Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• CRM discipline and structured pipeline management mindset.
• Comfortable using digital marketing tools, LinkedIn prospecting, and AI-powered tools to support business development activities and improve efficiency.
• Knowledge of antibody discovery, biologics, protein sciences, or CRO activities is a strong plus.
• Ability to travel regularly across the Boston area and occasionally within the U.S.
