We have a full-time opportunity (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) for a Human Resources Generalist in-person at our location in Pembroke, MA.

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for administering the day-to-day HR functions for the organization, including recruiting, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, leave management, performance management, and employee development. As the organization's dedicated Human Resources professional, this position provides hands-on support across all areas of HR, partnering with employees and leadership to foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring HR programs, policies, and practices are administered effectively and consistently. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding. Partner with department managers to understand staffing needs and identify the skills and competencies required for open positions.
  • Process payroll and maintain payroll records, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Administer employee benefits, leave programs, unemployment claims, workers’ compensation, and accommodation processes.
  • Coordinate and administer the employee performance review process and provide support to managers throughout the review cycle.
  • Serve as a resource to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, and general employment-related questions.
  • Support company culture initiatives, employee engagement activities, employee recognition programs, and company events.
  • Coordinate Human Resources administrative activities and support.
  • Assist in resolving employee concerns and workplace issues while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Maintain employee records, HRIS data, organization charts, and job descriptions, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with the administration and communication of company policies and procedures and help ensure consistent application across the organization.
  • Maintain employment records and Human Resources practices in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct HR-related research and assist in evaluating the effectiveness of HR programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to HR policies, programs, and processes to enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports and analyze HR-related data to support business and workforce decisions.
  • Coordinate employee training, development, and onboarding activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of employment law, regulatory changes, and Human Resources best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Prior experience processing payroll and maintaining payroll records.
  • Experience in recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, and performance management.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, PFML, ADA, FLSA, COBRA, unemployment insurance and workers’ compensation.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships.


Pay Range:

$75,000-$100,000

Final pay is determined using market data in alignment with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
