Tunnel Survey Manager (Pittsburgh)

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently seeking a Tunnel Survey Manager to join our team on a Heavy Civil Construction Project in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

• Project: Tunnel Construction Project
• Summary: We are looking for a Tunnel Survey Manager to lead and coordinate all surveying activities for the tunneling works. The ideal candidate should have solid experience managing survey teams on heavy civil or underground infrastructure projects, preferably tunnels. The candidate will oversee survey field operations, tunnel control networks, coordination with construction and engineering teams, quality control procedures, and survey deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Estimated duration of the position: 48 months - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.
• Responsibilities:
• Manage all tunnel surveying operations on site.
• Coordinate field survey crews and office survey personnel.
• Supervise tunnel control network establishment and maintenance.
• Ensure survey accuracy and compliance with project tolerances.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and TBM teams.
• Review survey reports, calculations, and deliverables.
• Support planning and execution of tunnel advance activities.
• Ensure implementation of QA/QC procedures.
• Manage survey schedules and resource allocation.
• Support problem-solving during tunnel construction operations.
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9 hours, (1 hour lunch). Based on project demands.

Requirements:

• Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years of surveying experience.
• Strong experience in tunneling or underground infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience as Survey Manager or similar leadership role.
• Experience with tunnel control and underground survey methodologies.
• Knowledge of Leica, Trimble or similar survey equipment.
• Experience with survey software and CAD platforms.
• English level: C1 required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
