- Project: tunnel
- Estimated length: 12 months - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the candidate in other projects to give him/her continuity.
- Summary: responsible for overseeing all electrical installations and systems associated with TBM operations and tunnel construction activities, including temporary power networks, substations, ventilation systems, and the full tunnel electrical infrastructure. This role ensures that all electrical systems required for continuous TBM operation are installed, maintained, and operated safely and efficiently. This position is critical due to the complexity of underground electrical systems, the demanding safety environment, and the need to maintain uninterrupted TBM operations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Responsibilities:
- Electrical Systems for TBM Operations: Manage and supervise all power and control systems supporting TBM functionality, including main drives, auxiliary systems, and backup power.
- Temporary Power Distribution: Design, implement, and monitor temporary electrical networks for tunnel works, ensuring reliability, load capacity, and safe distribution throughout the advancing tunnel.
- Coordination with TBM Manufacturer Teams: Work closely with OEM specialists to integrate electrical systems, support troubleshooting, and ensure compliance with TBM technical requirements.
- Supervision of Electrical Crews and Subcontractors: Lead and coordinate electricians, technicians, and subcontracted teams, ensuring safe work practices, productivity, and adherence to project standards.
- Troubleshooting and Commissioning Support: Provide hands‑on technical support during installation, testing, energization, and commissioning of electrical systems, resolving faults to minimize downtime.
- Compliance with NEC, NYC Codes, and Project Specifications: Ensure all electrical works meet regulatory requirements, safety codes, and contractual specifications, including documentation and inspection readiness.
- Interface with Mechanical and Tunneling Teams: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align electrical works with mechanical installations, TBM advance planning, and overall tunnel construction sequencing.
- Working Hours: Day or Night Shifts

- Requirements/Skills:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience as a TBM Electrical Supervisor/ Superintendent, preferably with experience in underground/ tunnel construction projects or similar.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective maintenance programs for complex electrical systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and management.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate and complete electrical documentation.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) principles, actively promoting a safe work culture.
