Position Summary:
As the HR Generalist, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day HR functions, with a particular focus on payroll administration across multiple states. You will also be responsible for fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring legal compliance, and leading key HR initiatives across our diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process bi-weekly payroll for employees in multiple U.S. states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations
- Administer employee benefits and coordinate open enrollment, claims resolution, and vendor communication
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across all operating states
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, handling HR-related inquiries, conflict resolution, and performance matters
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Lead recruitment and on-boarding efforts to support staffing needs across our warehouse, transportation, and corporate teams
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS/payroll systems
- Support training and development programs, including safety and compliance training
- Collaborate with leadership to drive employee engagement, retention, and development strategies
- Manage employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification a plus: PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is required
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, including at least 2 years managing payroll across multiple states
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written) is required
- Strong understanding of federal and state labor laws (TX and other relevant states)
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems
- Full working knowledge of ADP is required
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse environments
- Prior experience with HR audits or regulatory compliance reviews
- Bi-cultural background or experience working with a diverse workforce
