We are looking for a self-starter who is excited to jump into an internship in the pertinent industry of transportation and logistics! Prosponsive Logistics is a third-party logistics company (3PL) with a focus on building relationships externally with customers and carriers, and internally with our co-workers, tenured and new to the team! We are growing in sales, size and people, and we hope YOU are eager to be an important component to our growth and success at our office in Pelham, AL!
Job Purpose:
As an Operations Intern, you will jump in immediately to gain experience in the transportation industry and become a multi-departmental asset to the whole company. You will learn about Prosponsive Logistics inside and out, through sitting in several seats and assisting with multiple roles and projects. We believe the best way for you to learn is hands-on, and we have plenty of people and resources to help you do so. Your projects and involvement can vary weekly, depending upon where we most need you during your window of time with us. We strive to hire interns who are willing and excited to be considered for full-time employment upon graduation.
Intern Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily performance of employees’ phone usage for KPI’s and daily track software application
- Develop reports to daily track Project44 (driver tracking app) usage; increase carrier engagement and accuracy by 30% through enforcement and awareness of discovered statistics.
- Create load boards through Salesforce for Prosponsive’s logistics coordinators to quickly and conveniently access open loads
- Create reports through Salesforce to track and assess customer and carrier data
- Administrative office work: scanning, mailing, organization of paperwork and files
- Network with a wide variety of customers, carriers, and drivers to start building the foundation to a successful career in Supply Chain Logistics
- Learn and train to market Prosponsive’s solutions to existing and prospective customers
- Learn and train to manage a network of partner carriers to move freight in a profitable manner
- Manage carriers to ensure on-time and successful services
- Negotiate transportation rates with carriers to meet profit goals
- Monitor in-transit freight and troubleshoot problems to ensure on-time delivery
- Collaborate with your team and internal business partners to resolve complex challenges and develop useful knowledge becoming fluent in the language of logistics and transportation
- Stay informed on the trends in the transportation industry
- Engage and connect in ongoing training and professional development activities focused on enhancing your skills and abilities to become the next industry expert
- Network with a wide variety of customers, carriers, and drivers to start building the foundation to a successful career in Supply Chain Logistics
- Assist with internal engagement activities when needed
- Be willing and available to complete other duties when assigned
