What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler - 2nd Shift position at Prospira America Corporation?
MATERIAL HANDLER - 2ND SHIFT
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Using a hard rubber-tired forklift truck, deliver raw material to and take finished goods away from the process areas which may include stops at the Quality Lab. Deliver and store pallet loads of parts in cardboard boxes or totes in elevated areas of Finished Goods or in Work-in-Process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver to Operator pallets of supplies such as compound, OT’s and IT’s
- Pick up and deliver parts from the process areas to QC inspection
- Pick up and deliver from QC inspection to Finished Goods or to Work-in-Process storage
- Make boxes to suit customer requirements
- Service sort areas by moving parts into and out of sort area to Finished Goods or to reprocess areas, inventory staging for shipment or to staging for scrap
- Share Plant service aisle housekeeping with other Material Handlers on shift
- Remove trash and paper from takeaway areas when product is moved
- Maintain chipboard to promote control accuracy of stored inventories
- Lift LPG gas tanks and exchange empty tanks for full tanks
- Maintain a safe working environment and report safety problems as they arise
- Miscellaneous general labor operations as required to maintain a safe and productive work area
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current forklift certification/license or the ability to attain within two weeks of accepting the position
- Ability to get on and off forklift numerous times during shift
- Ability to lift full LPG gas tanks
