Prosperity Partners ("Prosperity") is a Chicago-headquartered professional services firm offering best-in-class tax, accounting, transaction advisory and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With offices throughout the United States and private equity backing, Prosperity is seeking an organized Bookkeeping Associate to support our growing practice in Egg Harbor Township.
The firm utilizes state-of-the-art accounting practices, superior technology and a roll-up-the-sleeves approach by entrenching personnel within our clients’ business. The Prosperity team of specialists employs a unique two-prong (“tag team”) approach that includes (1) addressing day-to-day activity, operating on a monthly or quarterly basis; and (2) addressing overall strategic planning.
Primary Role: Performs routine detailed accounting and tax services with relative independence. Senior Accountants are responsible for completing client engagements within budget, supervising one or more staff accountants, and presenting work for final review. Throughout the duration of this role Senior Accountants will be needed to begin assisting managers with client management and engagements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Exercise good judgment and respect the policies and procedures of the Firm.
- Develops sufficient technical knowledge so that a minimum amount of supervision is needed. A senior should present work for review that requires minimal changes.
- Coaching and developing others. Supervises one or more staff on engagements. This requires effective delegating, progress monitoring, teaching and giving performance feedback.
- Manages engagements, making sure that quality work is performed within budget and on time while minimizing stress.
- Has meaningful contact with clients. Though the senior’s relationship with the client is usually secondary to that of the manager or partner and it is important for the senior to communicate effectively.
- Typical engagement activities: Perform basic accounting steps in areas such as cash, receivables, payables, simple 1040, 1120 & 1065 tax returns.
- Participates in the Firm’s marketing efforts by taking part in networking activities.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, MBA or business related Master’s preferred
