We’re looking for a Junior Operations Engineer who brings a strong attention to detail, a desire to learn, and an interest in how systems and processes support life insurance and annuity operations. In this role, you’ll support daytoday operational systems, assist with monitoring and issue resolution, and help ensure critical processes run accurately and reliably. You’ll partner closely with Operations, IT, and business teams to troubleshoot issues, document procedures, and gain handson experience in a highly regulated, missioncritical environment that supports policy administration, financial transactions, and customer outcomes.

About The Role
We’re looking for a Junior Operations Engineer who brings a strong attention to detail, a desire to learn, and an interest in how systems and processes support life insurance and annuity operations. In this role, you’ll support daytoday operational systems, assist with monitoring and issue resolution, and help ensure critical processes run accurately and reliably. You’ll partner closely with Operations, IT, and business teams to troubleshoot issues, document procedures, and gain handson experience in a highly regulated, missioncritical environment that supports policy administration, financial transactions, and customer outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Support and Maintain Operational Systems
- Support servers, applications, cloud environments, and mainframe systems that power life insurance and annuity operations
- Help ensure system uptime, reliability, and performance across production environments
- Assist with overnight mainframe and batch processing cycles as needed to support business continuity
- Monitor, Troubleshoot, and Resolve Issues
- Investigate system outages, slow performance, and failed deployments by digging into logs, configurations, and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot issues directly and partner with senior engineers when escalation is needed
- Roll back changes quickly and safely when issues arise to minimize business impact
- Assist with application deployments, system updates, and code releases across environments
- Maintain and support pipelines used for releases and operational changes
- Validate deployments and ensure systems remain stable postrelease
- Work closely with the Infrastructure Team to support networking, storage, compute resources, and virtualization platforms
- Collaborate with IT and Operations partners to resolve issues and support shared operational goals
- Administer and support Windows environments using Microsoft operating systems
- Use PowerShell and SQL scripting to support automation, troubleshooting, and reporting
- Support SQL Server, IIS, Azure services, and Nutanix environments as part of daily operations
- Execute basic mainframe console commands to support batch and production processing
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation, procedures, and runbooks
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, operational efficiency, and issue response
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that strengthen operational stability in a highly regulated environment
- Strong process driven mindset with emphasis on designing workflows that reduce human error and operational risk
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed or required
- Demonstrated commitment to security best practices and risk management, including proactive identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities
- Demonstrated ability to document processes and procedures

- Problem Solving: Diagnoses issues at the root by analyzing logs, configurations, and system behavior to resolve incidents efficiently

- A variable compensation package with a base range of $70K–$80K
