Multidisciplinary Designer

Position Overview

We are seeking an innovative and experienced human-centered Multidisciplinary Designer to lead projects and collaborate on our mortgage company's brand strategy across all media channels. This mid-management role combines strategic design and brand leadership with financial services, and/ or real estate industry expertise, requiring someone who can maintain brand consistency while bridging the requirements of digital and physical experiences from print, video, social media, online digital, to emerging media channels. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in financial services branding, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration within the financial services, mortgage and/or real estate industries.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Design Strategy & Management

• Develop and design analog and digital materials, in order to deliver comprehensive brand strategies that align with mortgage business objectives and regulatory requirements
• Oversee brand guidelines implementation across all marketing materials including print materials, ads, brochures, promotional materials, email marketing and digital assets
• Monitor brand performance metrics and market positioning within the competitive mortgage landscape
• Lead brand evolution initiatives while maintaining compliance with financial industry standards and regulations

Project Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead projects and collaborate with a team of designers, content creators, and mortgage marketing specialists
• Collaborate with loan officers, mortgage consultants, underwriters, and senior leadership to align brand initiatives with business development goals
• Collaborate with compliance, sales, and other department subject matter experts to ensure cohesive and compliant brand representation
• Provide strategic direction for all mortgage marketing creative work

Multi-Channel Brand Oversight

• Oversee brand alignment across social media platforms, ensuring consistency  
• Oversee brand alignment for print advertising, loan officer (mortgage consultant) marketing materials, and promotional collateral for quality and regulatory alignment
• Collaborate with digital marketing team on website content, email campaigns, and online mortgage advertising
• Explore new media opportunities to expand brand reach while maintaining regulatory compliance

Financial Services Industry Specialization

• Apply financial services industry concepts, terminology, and regulatory requirements to all brand initiatives
• Ensure all marketing materials comply with TRID, RESPA, Fair Lending, and other relevant mortgage regulations
• Develop designs and brand messaging that effectively communicates complex mortgage products to diverse audiences
• Collaborate with compliance team for materials development review and approval.

Project Management & Execution

• Lead cross-functional mortgage marketing projects from concept through execution, managing timelines and budgets
• Present brand strategies and campaign concepts to leadership and key stakeholders
• Coordinate with teammates, external agencies, vendors, and real estate partners to ensure brand standards are met
• Conduct regular brand audits and competitive analysis within the mortgage industry

Required Qualifications

Experience & Background

• 6-8 years of design, human-centered design, brand management and marketing experience, preferably in mortgage, banking, financial services, or real estate
• Proven track record of managing brand initiatives across multiple media channels in regulated industries
• Experience leading projects and collaborating with creative teams
• Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with regulatory considerations

Industry Knowledge

• Mortgage, Financial Services or Real Estate Industry Expertise Required: Understanding of mortgage, and/or real estate industry concepts, terminology, and regulatory landscape
• Experience with financial services, mortgage and/or real estate marketing compliance including TRID, RESPA, and Fair Lending requirements
• Some knowledge of mortgage products, loan processes, and real estate market dynamics
• Understanding of target audiences including first-time homebuyers, refinance customers, and real estate professionals

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in design software, Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, XD as well as familiarity with web-based tools (e.g., Figma, Maxa, Google platforms) and mortgage-specific marketing tools like Total Expert are a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, Word.
• Advanced understanding of human-centered design, brand strategy, positioning, and market dynamics in financial services
• Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills for executive-level reporting
• Knowledge of and proficiency in social media platforms, digital marketing trends, and traditional media with regulatory awareness

Leadership & Collaboration

• Proven ability to influence and build consensus across multiple departments including sales, compliance, and operations
• Experience fostering professional development in regulated environments
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to make strategic decisions while maintaining regulatory compliance
• Cultural awareness for diverse homebuyer markets and real estate professional partnerships

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field
• Experience with identity design and brand refresh or rebranding initiatives
• Knowledge of trademark, copyright, and regulatory considerations in financial services branding
• Familiarity with mortgage and/or real estate technology platforms and digital innovation trends
• Mortgage, financial services, or real estate brokerage experience
• Professional certifications in design, or digital marketing
