Mortgage Loan Funder - Remote - Eastern Standard Time Zone

Job Summary:

Prosperity Home Mortgage, LLC (PHM) is seeking a Loan Funder to join our Accounting team. This role ensures accurate and timely funding of mortgage loans while maintaining compliance with company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory guidelines.  The Loan Funder ensures timely and accurate loan disbursements, coordinates funding with warehouse banks, and resolves funding discrepancies. This role requires a detailed understanding of loan products, expertise in loan closing, collaboration with Closing Ops, and attention to detail in financial reconciliation. 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Initiate and process loan fundings to multiple warehouse banks, ensuring correct disbursements based on loan product types. Process return wires, loan suspensions, answers Departmental emails in Shared Inbox and other related metrics, while collaborating with a nationwide team.
• Work closely with the Closing Operations team to resolve funding issues, including discrepancies with closers, underwriters, and loan processors. Provide expert guidance on loan funding errors and resolve them efficiently.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of various loan products to ensure accurate submission to the correct warehouse bank. Understand and ensure compliance with product-specific documentation requirements.
• Identify and address discrepancies in funding amounts (e.g., over-disbursements, under-disbursements). Ensure that funding worksheet aligns with the signed Closing Disclosure to maintain financial accuracy.
• Manage return wires and address issues related to loans suspended due to new accounts, data errors, or regulatory flags (e.g., OFAC suspensions). Ensure receipt of wires for closing.
• Monitor and process daily supplemental wire requests and handling of disbursement checks returned from closing. Ensure proper coding and GL entry for accurate financial tracking.
• Act as the primary point of contact for funding-related inquiries, providing expert advice to closers and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
• 5-8 years of experience in mortgage origination, loan closing, and warehouse line operations. Strong knowledge of loan closing, loan disbursement processes, and regulatory requirements.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Expertise in Encompass software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks under pressure
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
