Part-Time Starbucks Server (34670)

Position Summary: 

As a Starbucks Barista at Hyatt House, you'll create memorable guest experiences by serving exceptional coffee and beverages. Your main duties include preparing a variety of drinks to Starbucks' standards while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Success in this role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent communication. You'll collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and meet guest needs promptly. A successful Barista excels in crafting beverages, shows a positive attitude, works well in a team, and is committed to outstanding customer service, enhancing the Hyatt House guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

• Prepare and serve Starbucks beverages efficiently and to company standards
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring hygiene and safety protocols are followed
• Provide excellent customer/guest service by addressing customer needs and creating a welcoming environment
• Operate cash registers, handle payments, and perform transactions accurately
• Assist with restocking of supplies as needed
• Support team members in daily operations and collaborate effectively to meet business goals
• Stay informed about Starbucks products and promotions to educate and engage with customers/guests
• Adhere to Starbucks and Hyatt House operational policies and procedures
• Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and contribute to team success
• Ensure all equipment is used safely and report any maintenance issues promptly

• Attends hotel and department meetings and other functions required by management
• Communicates all pertinent information to all department heads
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
• Arrives to work on time, ready to clock in, in a clean/pressed uniform and non-slip shoes
• Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
• Wears name tag at all times when at work
• Must be attentive, courteous and efficient at all times when dealing with the Guests and co-workers
• Comply at all times with compliance standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
• Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with all employees and other departments within the hotel in such a manner that promotes harmony throughout the workplace
• Be familiar with all policies and hotel rules, and hotel terminology
• Must be capable of self-supervision and have the ability to manage time accordingly in order to complete the required work

Qualifications Requirements:  

• A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in a coffee shop
• Minimum age requirement of 18 years

• Efficiently handle multiple orders while maintaining excellent customer/guest service
• Adapt to customers'/guests’ needs in a busy environment
• Communicate effectively with customers/guests, colleagues, and supervisors
• Prioritize tasks and manage time to handle peak periods successfully

• Accurately process orders and maintain records

As a Starbucks barista working within Hyatt House, strong reasoning skills are essential. You’ll need to use good judgment to handle customer questions and solve any issues quickly. Listening carefully to both customers and coworkers is key to understanding and addressing any concerns.

Physical Demands: 
 
As a Starbucks barista at Hyatt House, you'll be on your feet for extended periods, crafting beverages and providing excellent customer service. You'll need to lift items up to 50 lbs, such as coffee supplies. Strong visual skills are important for reading orders and ensuring guest satisfaction.
